HOW IS THIS DONE?

The Coriolis Effect is real. It's responsible for storms turning in opposite directions in the northern and southern hemispheres. But to think a few feet either way of a "center line" on the earth would make this difference is a stretch... and is not accurate. So how do these guys have so much fun with it?
